This kit has been assembled from the requests of our customers,  We have a wealth of breeding and rearing experience gathered over many years, but still feel that changes and improvements are ongoing and have completed several Veterinary CPD (Continued Professional Development) courses to help in this.

We specialise in all breeding and whelping requirements, we only use the highest quality products the vast majority have been tested by ourselves

After each puppy or kitten is born, the mother typically breaks the amniotic sac, tears the umbilical cord, and begins to clean her baby. In all the years breeding only one of our girls have actually done this. If mum does not do this you will need to step in and break the sack, pinch the Umbilical cord about 13mm from belly with the Sterile forceps, then cut with the sterile Scissors and then apply Iodine to cord to prevent infection, if cord is bleeding after cutting this is when the cord clamp is applied. (for a short time only) The Puppy or kitten should begin moving and crying. Any Puppy or kitten that does not immediately move or cry should be retrieved and rubbed vigorously with a warm, clean towel over the back, abdomen, and top of its head. Suction of fluids from the nostrils and mouth with a bulb aspirator or mucus extractor may help the puppies or kittens breathing, lifedrops or lifedrops spray is also used to stimulate lifeless puppies and kittens.

WE HAVE NOW ADDED OUR NEW MINI SIZE REUSABLE CORD CLAMPS TO THIS KIT (38MM TOTAL LENGTH) THESE ARE MUCH SMALLER THAN OUR STANDARD BLUE ONES AND FIND THEY ARE MORE SUITED FOR ALL SIZED PUPPIES AND KITTENS

• 1 x Sterile Stainless Steel Scissors - Cutting cord should you need to a lot of mums don′t chew cord after delivering.
• 9 x Sterile Alcohol Wipes - Clean instruments in-between use. This is our preferred wipe for cleaning medical instruments, the chlorhexcidine gives added protection killing germs after the alcohol evaporates.
• 1 x Sterile Stainless Steel Forceps - Clamping of the cord before cutting should it be required. We find these useful if our girl has a retained placenta but puppy has been born with cord attached to placenta so we clamp close to mum so we can cut the cord and to stop placenta going further inside.
• 2 x 5g Lubricating jelly sachets - Help loosen the puppy/kitten when delivering and to also place on the thermometer during temp checks.
• 2 x Pairs of Latex Free Gloves (Large) - should be worn at all times when giving assistance to the mother to prevent infection.They allow good sensitivity and are Ideal choice for anyone who is allergic to Latex.
• 1 x Kidney dish - keeping all of your instruments together and to hand while helping to deliver and/or putting placenta in after each puppy/Kitten even useful to use to clean down mum afterwards then throw away!
• 1 x Digital Thermometer with storage case - 12 - 24 hours prior to giving birth, the mother's temperature may drop. (Normally at least One degree drop indicates labor starting) Record temperature on the PDF chart that is included
• 5 x Reusable MINI Sized Cord Clamps 38mm total length - Pinch off umbilical cords in an emergency. We leave these on for short time only until we feel bleeding has stopped
• 1 x Sterile Bulb aspirator - Suck out fluid from puppy/kittens nose and throat.
• 42 x Tyvek Bands (Paper like Material) - Easily identify puppies, Width can be cut in half to make two bands for smaller/younger breeds or even joined together for larger/older puppies. (Total 4 coloured bands per puppy when cut in half) * Please check daily and change as required, NOT Reusable
• 1 x Hand Wipe - Sanitising Hand Wipes, Individually wrapped, Hygienic Hand Rub in a wipe.
• 2 x Feeding Syringes (Sizes vary ) - Feeding fluids/Milk to mum or puppy if needed (Not all puppies are strong enough to take to a bottle straight away)
• 2 x Disposable Aprons - Keep your clothes clean while assisting delivery - Some of the fluid from deliveries will stain clothes and carpets.
• 1 x 3ml Modified syringe nurser
• 1 x 250g Welpi Milk

With Premade Hole (A modified teat which has a silicone under teat and a realistic feel teat over.)

These nursers have 2 teats the underlay silicone teat has a premade hole making them perfect for breeders who prefer not to make the hole themselves.

DO NOT allow the puppy or kitten to chew on the teat. If you find them chewing, rather than sucking, it has finished feeding and the syringe should be withdraw.

Cleaning: Clean the Syringe and teat thoroughly after each use. To clean these Syringe nursers you can remove the white plunger fully then clean both parts with hot NOT BOILING soapy water. If sterilising solution is used, rinse thoroughly afterwards.

NOTE: Please be advised that the ink on the syringes may not stay on with multiple cleanings. We advise to either mark syringe with a marker or to put a clear varnish over the graduations. These o-ring syringes will outlast most other syringes that are available

Welpi is the closest approximation to bitches milk. Feed as a dietary supplement soon after the onset of pregnancy. Resistance to disease is increased, milk formation encouraged and general condition improved. It is suitable for rearing puppies and orphaned ones from the first day onwards and should be used as a feed supplement. Fed during ill health and convalescence, Welpi will greatly assist in the return to normal health. It can be mixed as a milk or sprinkled on the food as a nutritional supplement. Fed daily throughout a dogs life, it will help digestion and prevent disorders through dietary deficiency. Concentrated in powder form, it contains easily digested animal proteins - a source of energy from fat and carbohydrates - together with a suitable combination of minerals, trace elements and vitamins. Available in 250g and 2kg containers.
