This kit contains all the items we consider essential to have when preparing for whelping/queening. All instruments are medical grade and when stated sterile are sealed in clean packaging and supplied in date. We have not included many items that we would call ‘standard household items’ as this would only increase shipping costs.

All items supplied have been used by ourselves in whelping and over the years we have used everything supplied below (not always in one whelping but it’s better to have some of these things and not need them rather than not have them).

Contents:

• 28 x ID bands – Perfect for identifying new-born puppies 14 unique colours – We cut these in half to make 2 bands making total of 56 Bands (4 Each colour). Check fit daily and change as required. *Not Reusuable
• 1 x Sterile Stainless Steel/Plastic Handle Scissors Blunt/Blunt for safety – Cutting the umbilical cord should you need to
• 1 x Sterile Stainless Steel forceps – Emergency clamping of the cord should it required
• 4 x Sterile Alcohol wipes – Clean instruments in-between use. This is our prefered wipe for cleaning medical instruments, it provides superior anti-microbrial properties over the standard 70% Sani Cloth (which we find too dry)  has more liquid content providing a better clean, the chlorhexcidine gives added protection killing germs after the alcohol evapourates.
• 1 x Feeding bottle, teats and cleaning brush – this is a prefered choice with many breeders over the beaphar Lactol bottle due to being a slightly larger bottle (20ml More)  to hold more milk and a softer different shaped teat that puppies latch onto better to feed.
• 1 x Stethoscope – This is a useful tool to listen to puppies heart beats later on in pregnancy, some breeders have skill and can even tell the sex of puppies. Also used to detect a heart beat on lifeless newborn puppies.
• 2 x 5g Gel lubricating jelly – Always use lubrication when making an inspection / taking temperature and help in removing ‘difficult’ puppies/kittens.
• 1 x Digital thermometer and storage case – Taking females temperature as this will usually drop within 24 hours of labour – Use the PDF included to record your readings,
• 1 x Hand Sanitiser – Sterilise your hands without the need for soap and water to be used. We get all visitors that are wanting to handle pups use this.
• 1 x Sterile Aspirator – For clearing mucus and fluid from airways just after puppy/kitten is born.
• 2 x Green Vitrile Powder Free Gloves – should be worn at all times when giving assistance to the mother to prevent infection.– Ideal choice who are allergic to Latex.
• 1 x 250g Lamlac Milk - This milk is a popular go to Milk for 100's of puppy breeders including us due to it mixing very easy and being easily digestible. From experience and many reviews puppies that have been raised on lamlac gain good amounts of weight from it. Can be fed in a bottle, Syringe or by sponge and fed warm and also great when weaning mixed in with food and when puppies are lapping out of a bowl often then fed cooler.
